History:

A 12-year old boy has had scarring alopecia on his scalp started 2 years ago at the same time he noticed nail destruction with eventual total nail loss of all his fingernails. On examination there were multiple irregular outlined cicatricial patches with complete lair loss in the vertex of the scalp and total nail dystrophy with evidence of pterygiym formation at the bases of the nail units of all finger nails. Childhood LP is uncommonly encountered during daily clinical practice, however it may present severely as in this unlucky child causing permanent damage in the scalp and nails.
