History:

Pityriasis lichenoides chronica is uncommon papulosquamous disease affecting young adults and occasionally children. It is characterized by recurrent crops of numerous scaly brown-red papules 4 to 10 mm in size, mainly on the trunk and extremities, which are covered with scales. Their scaling is distinctive in that single silver-grey scales (mica scales) surmount the lesions. The rash usually grumbles on for months with eventual spontaneous resolution occur with postinflammatory pigmentary changes. This girl had wide spread rash composed mainly of postinflammatory hypopigmented macules and few red papules involving mainly the trunk, extremities and the face.
