History: Nevus spilus, or speckled lentiginous nevus, is a congenital flat brown patch, which develops dotted brown macules during childhood. Histologically, the brown patch has features of a lentigo, whereas the dotted brown macules most often reveal features of junctional nevi. Because this lesion is benign, there is no requirement to remove it, Therefore “watch and wait” is indicated.
