History:

9 month old baby with pustules on a red base on her L thumb. started more than 6 days ago with small ulcers in her mouth.Is a thumb sucker preferring the L thumb ? Herpetic whitlow with secondary bacterial infection.

More than 72 hrs since suspected viral outbreak. Started on Keflex for the bacterial infection

Swabs pending H Simplex 1 DNA found on PCR
