History:

Case of Dr

42 year old female with painful and pruritic lesions periorbitally for the past month. I had initially swabbed her for viral PCR and bacterial culture which came back negative. i had given her Hycor ointment to use for a week which did not resolve the issue. It was then trailled with bactroban in addition for a week with no discernable results. I was unable to come to a proper diagnosis with regards to this, she also noted some lesions around her mouth and the lesion numbers around the eye increased over the span of 1 month. Finally gave a dermatology referral for further management. loratadine for the itch was given BD

Agree. The second image is a beauty for periocular rosacea. Use Minomycin 50mgs bd for a month and some 2% sulfur in sorbolene cream BD to the surrounding skin. (Submitted By: Dr Ian McColl)
