History:

Elderly woman with twopoigmented macules on her cheek. Both were suspicious appearing. Biopsy disclosed more severe atypia and superficial invasion in "B" compared to site "A." Thus, specimen form site "A" was read as lentigo maligna and site "B" was read as lentigo maligna melanoma. Both were surgically excised.
