History: Granuloma annulare will sometimes occur in a more diffuse form with large annular lesions particularly on the thighs. However there are always papules in the advancing edge and no scaling as this is a dermal process.Sarcoidosis can be difficult to exclude clinically. In a ringworm infection there would be scale in the advancing edge.
