Purpura due to aplasic anaemia
This girl had 2 weeks history of epistaxis, and generalized weakness. She visited a dentist for teeth problem. On examination she was pale and there was ecchymosis on her left arm and on the gum. On investigations there was a pancytopenia [Hb was 6.4 gm/dl, WBC count was 3400 and the platelet count was 50000] but with no blast cells on blood film examination. PT and PTT were normal and the bone morrow aspirate showed hypoplastic morrow. She was diagnosed as aplastic anemia and the purpuric manifestations were due to thrombocytopenia.
