History: This patient was given a steroid injection for a swollen arthritic knee.Shortly afterwards his previously stable plaque psoriasis was converted into acute tender pustular psoriasis.This can be a life threatening condition.He required Methotrexate to bring the condition rapidly under control.In general oral steroids should not be used in psoriasis because of the danger of this very phenomenon.
