Differential DiagnosisHistory: Thromboangiitis obliterans or Buerger's disease is a nonatherosclerotic inflammatory vasoocclusive disease of the small and medium sized arteries and veins of the extremities. It is often directly related to smoking, and the progression of the disease is closely linked to the continued smoking. Raynaud’s phenomenon, rest pain, unremitting ischemic ulcers and gangrene of the digits are typically seen.
