Differential DiagnosisHistory: The speed of onset and the distribution of the blisters are the major clinical features pointing to a diagnosis of plant contact dermatitis. The blisters are often seen in a linear streaking distribution. This lady was cutting down a variety of trees and vines in her garden. The rash was on the extensor surface of her right forearm and the inner aspect of her right thigh which were exposed when she was working.Oral steroids in high doses for a week or so are needed to suppress this degree of inflammation. There is often secondary staphylococcal infection of the weeping areas.
