History:

Pigmented pupuric dermatoses is a group of diseases having a common  purpuric morphological  appearance usually involving the lower extremities of younger adults. At least four major variants have been described; Schamberg's disease, purpura annularis telangiectodes of Majocchi, pigmented purpuric lichenoid dermatosis of Gougerot and Blum, and lichen aureus. 

Lichenoid pigmented purpuric dermatitis of Gougerot-Blum belongs to a group of closely related disorders which are termed pigmented purpuric dermatoses. It clinically manifests itself with grouped lichenoid papules in association with purpuric lesions.
