Differential DiagnosisHistory: Discoid eczema may appear at any age and is characterized by discretely marginated, round papulo-vesicular eruptions on an erythematous base. Patients presenting with discoid eczema are significantly younger than those presenting with non-discoid eczema. It is seen in some patients with endogenous eczema including atopic dermatitis but it may be unrelated to atopic disorders. Endogenous discoid eczema often presents with lesions on the limbs and runs a chronic and relapsing course. Contact dermatitis may also present as discoid eczematous patches.
