History: This 18 months old child presented with an itchy spreading eruption on one buttock having recently returned to Australia after visiting relatives in the Phillipines.The rash shows the typical features of cutaneous larva migrans.His bare buttock has come in contact with sand or soil contaminated by the dog or cat hookworm in animal faeces.Topical Thiabendazole is apparently no longer available worldwide.Suggested treatments in this age group are Albendazole 200mgs per day orally for 3 days or Ivermectin 200microgms per Kg as a single dose though there are some medicolegal concerns about the latter in a child of this age
