Differential DiagnosisHistory: Pseudopelade of Brocq is a nonspecific cicatricial end stage of scalp diseases( such as DLE and LPP) resulting in cicatricial alopecia. The classic description of "footprints in the snow" refers to dermal atrophy causing a slight depression below the surrounding normal scalp. Usually, only mild erythema and slight perifollicular scaling are present. There is often no clinical evidence of inflammation.
