Diagnosis: Lichen Aureus
Description: Lichen aureus is a rare type of pigmented purpuric dermatosis which is closely related to Gougerot and Blum variant. There are grouped macules or lichenoid papules having a rusty, golden brown, or even purplish color. Lesions may occur on the trunk or upper extremity, although the lower parts of the legs are the site of predilection. Lesions are usually unilateral and limited to only one or two sites. Histopathologic findings include a perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltrate in a band-like pattern, hemosiderin-laden macrophages, and extravasation of red blood cells.
