62yo M with Hailey Hailey disease
Diagnosed in 1999
Frequent flares with secondary bacterial infections
Previous Rx:
Prophylactic Doxycycline 100mg daily
Yag Laser: with some effect
Acitretin 25mg daily
Topical: Diprosone , bactrobam and condys crystals
What was interesting about this case is that a viral swab of the area showed HSV 1in his groin.
Would not have picked the secondary Herpes in the groin. Just shows you the virtue of taking viral swabs when you take bacterial and yeast cultures! (Submitted By: Dr Ian McColl)
