History:

46 year old female
started developing pink nodules at the age of 18
no FHx of neurofibromatosis
Dx Neurofibromatosis Type 1

You can see the multiple cafe au lait spots and at times the segmental distribution of some of the neurofibromas. You can rarely get cases where there is segmental neurofibromas only indicating a post somatic mosaicism of an embryological column of cells.
