History:

KERION is an inflammatory type of tinea capitis usually of animal origin (zoonotic dermatophytosis). It is usually seen in children. Delay in diagnosis may result in cicatricial permanent hair loss. This child was treated with Fluconazole for three months with unnoticeable results. Shifting to GRISEOFULVIN gave better results, however, at expense of some scarring alopecia.
