History:

 An asymptomatic but cosmetically-bothering violaceous rash confined to the face with involvement of the lower lip of one year duration. The nails, scalp and mucous membranes were not involved.

LPA usually affects dark-complexioned individuals who live in tropical or subtropical regions. It affects sun exposed areas of the face, dorsum of the hands and arms, V-shaped area of the chest and nape of the neck. Though many cases have been reported in the skin, few lesions associated with the lip involvement have been reported. Unlike classic lichen planus, pruritus, the Koebner phenomenon, and mucous membrane involvement are not commonly seen in LPA.
