Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Diffuse hair loss with reduced hairs' caliber (fine hairs) since early childhood. Similar family history is positive in first degrr relatives. Direct light microscopic examination (very important to be done in such cases) revealed a ball-and-socket deformity of the hair shaft, a diagnostic feature of Trichorrhexis nodosa.
