Differential DiagnosisHistory: Fixed drug eruption can involve any part of the body but has a predeliction for the oral and genital mucosae. There may be a solitary or multiple lesions. The initial lesion is a red patch that evolves into a target lesion like erythema multiforme and then, depending on the severity of the condition, evolves into a blister or erosion.Healing may occur with postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.Drugs causing fixed drug reactions are usually those that are taken intermittently.Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and antibiotics particularly sulfonamides and tetracyclines are the usual culprits.
