History: Herpes genitalis is the commonest venereal disease seen in clinical practice.The classic grouped vesicles,developing into pustules and rapidly forming small erosions,which heal within 10 days or so only to recur in the same area next time,is characteristic. Virtually all recurrent cases are due to HSV2.There is an initial prodromeof burning,itching or tingling for up to 24 hours before the vesicles appear.
