Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Trigeminal Trophic syndrome is trophic ulceration seen in anaesthetic skin within the trigeminal area.This lady had previously had Herpes zoster involving the second division of the trigeminal nerve.She had a crawling sensation in the skin in this area and tended to pick at it often without realising what she was doing.A biopsy excluded basal cell skin cancer.
