Differential DiagnosisHistory: This 6-month-old pretty girl presented with an atrophic area of alopecia over the back of the scalp. The child had suffered from recurrent erosions and ulceration over the scalp from birth. The lesions used to resolve partially with scarring and loss of hair with each attack. A biopsy showed absence of dermis in most areas with an atrophic epidermis, compatible with aplasia cutis congenita.
