Differential DiagnosisHistory: Porphyria cutanea tarda is the most common type of porphyria seen by dermatologists.It is characterized by skin fragility,blisters and erosions in sunexposed areas and at sites of trauma.Advanced cases have hyperpigmentation and increased and extensive facial hair.Most cases in the past have been associated with excess alcohol consumption but Hepatitis C infection is common in Western countries.
