Differential DiagnosisHistory:
48 year-old who gradually developed an itchy rash on both legs, both arms and, to a lesser extent, on the back. The thick and scaly plaques suggested both psoriasis and lichen planus as possible diagnoses, and a biopsy was performed to verify the correct diagnosis. The patient did not respond well to conservative treatment (topical + phototherapy), but ultimately cleared nearly completely with etanercept.
