Differential DiagnosisHistory:
44-year-old male consulting for a " black spot" on face that appeared suddenly around 4 months ago. He was treated with steroids and anti-fungal with no improvement. He states dermatosis is asymptomatic
On physical examination: 1cm x 8mm hyperpigmented (violaceous) slightly atrophic plaque on R cheek (anterior to zygoma), with slight scaling. Some 1-2 mm violaceous papules in linear disposition nearby the plaque.
Initially thought of Chronic discoid Lupus vs lichen pigmentosus. Biopsy report concluded: " Lichen Pigmentosus (Erythema Dyschromicum perstans)".
