History:

Erythrasma is characterised by brown scaly patches in the groin or axillae.It may also be found between the 4th and 5th toes.Generally it is asymptomatic.It is caused by the diptheroid Corynebacterium minutissimum.The application of Wood's light will show coral red fluorescence.The differential diagnoses include tinea cruris,intertrigo,inverse psoriasis,seborrheic dermatitis and candidiasis.

Treatment is with eryacne gel or oral erythromycin.
