History:

Scleroatrophic syndrome of Huriez was first described by Huriez in 1968.  It is characterised by scleroatrophic lesions predominantly of the hands, hypoplastic nail changes, and palmoplantar keratoderma.  The changes are usually present at birth.  The syndrome is frequently associated with skin and bowel cancer.
