Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Unilateral, well-demarcated, itchy, red scaly plaque with an active more scaly and slightly elevated border involved most of the left side of the face of four months duration. Based on a wrong diagnosis topical corticosteroids had been prescribed and used by the patient for more than two months. KOH examination at time of presentation yielded fungal hyphae and spores. Cure reached with oral griseofulvin therapy for six weeks.
