History:

Tinea capitis usually occurs in children and rarely in adults. This woman presented with localized rounded patch of hair loss (non-cicatricial till time of presentation). The scalp in the involved area was erythematous and studded with many pustules. Direct hair examination of hair yielded fungal elements. The patient was treated with oral griseofulvin and small dose- short duration oral prednisolone to prevent scarring with very good results within six weeks.
