History:

The most frequent and important differential diagnoses of scarring alopecia include: trauma, lichen planus, DLE, morphea, folliculitis decalvans, kerion and favus and pseudopelade of Brocq. When no apparent cause is found you may have the right to diagnose Pseudopelade of Brocq (diagnosis of exclusion) as in the presented case of localized cicatricial alopecia of three years duration.
