History: This 45-year-old farm worker presented with a few year history of developing a reddish indurated plaque covered by exudate and crust involving the chin.  Hairs were loose and depilation was easy without any pain.  Inflammatory deeper tinea barbae or kerion-like tinea barbae caused by zoophilic dermatophytes is more common than non inflammatory tinea barbae which is caused by anthropophilic dermatophytes.
