Differential DiagnosisHistory: Nevus giganteus or giant melanocytic nevus is found in 1 % of the newborns. It usually covers a large area of the trunk or a limb. As seen in the images it is unevenly pigmented. If situated in the lumbosacral area, it may be associated with meningomyelocele or spina bifida. The greatest risk is the potential of the giant nevi for the development of malignant melanoma.
