Pityriasis versicolor usually affects pubertal and postpubertal individuals as it is caused by a lipophilic yeast fungus (Malassezia furfur). However it is occasionally encountered in children as in the presented case with multiple hypopigmented patches covered with fine branny scales involving the forehead of more than 2 months duration.
