Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Lichen planus involves the skin,the hair follicles and the mucosal surfaces such as the mouth and genital skin.The cause in this patient was never found.A drug cause was excluded.He shows how florid the condition can be with characteristic post inflammatory hyperpigmentation involving some of the lesions on his thigh.
He responded well to PUVA therapy using oral psoralens and ultraviolet light
