Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Grover's syndrome or transient acantholytic dermatosis is seen more commonly in the elderly. The lesions are very itchy. They are said to begin as small vesicles that are scratched and turn into scaly papules.Although the name suggests the condition is short lived this is not often the case.Excessive heat and sweating are factors which seem to precipitate the condition. Many of the patients have associated sun damage to their skin.
The condition responds to strong topical steroids but tends to recur.
