Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Herpetic whitlow is a primary infection of the finger (mostly finger tip) with Herpes simplex virus that usually results from direct inoculation of the virus into the skin. This toddler presented with grouped pustules on an erythematous base involved most of the ventral aspect of the middle finger of 2-3 days duration.
