Differential DiagnosisHistory: Shagreen plaques are collagenomas (connective tissue nevi composed entirely of collagen) occur in 40% of patients with tuberous sclerosis. They usually develop in the first decade of life. The plaques are found on the trunk, most commonly on the lumbosacml area and their size vary from 1 to 8 cm in diameter.
