History: Tinea imbricata or Tokelau results from an infection with T. concentricum, an anthropophilic dermatophyte.It begins as a scaling ring; centrifugal spread follows, but within the area of central clearing a second wave of scaling soon arises. The process is repeated to give numerous concentric rings.The natural history is normally extremely prolonged and the whole body may become affected. Pruritus usually is intense and may lead to lichenification. However, the presented case had typical rash of one month duration but itching was minimal. KOH examination of scales showed fungal hyphae and spores. The patient had been cured with systemic griseofulvin.
