Differential DiagnosisHistory:
A 6-year-old boy presented with lichen nitidus of 6 months duration. He has had myriad of asymptomatic, round, flat-topped, flesh-colored, shiny papules 2 to 3 mm in diameter. Many lesions were grouped but not coalesced and some lesions showed Koebner’s phenomenon. The lesions were distributed on the extensor surfaces of the limbs especially the elbows and knees, chest, back, and penis. However, the face, palms, soles, nails, and mucous membranes were not involved. Lichen nitidus is a chronic and usually asymptomatic dermatitis that begins commonly in childhood or early adulthood. The clinical course is unpredictable and spontaneous resolution may be seen.
