History:

This two-days-old neonate born with generalized erythroderma with some exfoliation. He was delivered through normal vaginal delivary with normal body weight at birth.There were no similar family history and no previous drug intake by the mother during her normal prenatal period. The main differential diagnosis of congenital erythroderma are:

1. Bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis).

2. Non-bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (NCIE).

3. Harlequin ichthyosis.

4. Familial Leiner's disease (Generalized infantile seborrheic dermatitis).

5. Idiopathic.

N.B: Drugs, malignancies and other pre-existing dermatoses that may cause erythroderma in adults are excluded in congenital erythroderma.
