Differential DiagnosisHistory:
Relative husband and wife having 6 children, four of them were normal and last two babies (twin) delivered as collodion babies, and after shedding, they developed slight generalized erythroderma. Generalized scaling appeared within the first month of life. On examination, the scales were plate-like, large, dark brown and firmly adherent. Deep painful fissures, especially in the digits, palms and soles were also found with a palmoplantar keratoderma. The hair, teeth and mucous membranes were not affected, and growth and intellectual ability were normal. Both children suffered isolation and poor school performance due to the cosmetic appearance.
